So many of you click here for regular David Daskal updates. And yes, I do wonder, too. But I am willing to bet he is not reading my newest book, The Genomics Age, on DNA and stemcells.
But I did find a great interview here. Below's an excerpt from Reality News Online.
RealityNewsOnline: Hello, David, and thanks for taking the time to answer these questions from RealityNewsOnline! First, let's address the obvious – you have such a positive attitude and seem to have it all the time. How do you maintain it, even under stress like we saw on the show?
David Daskal: Thank you for very much for recognizing. :) I've put myself through a lot of situations I probably didn't need to get into during my college years, which have taught me to really appreciate the smallest things in life. I really value everything down to neon lights and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Not a day goes by where I'm not grateful to have been a part of AJ2 and all the successes that have come to me in the past year. So I'm genuinely happy. I always look at the bigger spectrum of things which is I how I maintain the positive attitude. For instance, what's the point of worrying about being in debt? If you weren't in debt, you'd still be in the same place, doing the same things, talking to the same people, essentially living the same life.
What disappointed me was how the guys reacted in an 'Us vs. Them' fashion and losing complete focus as to why we were there. But not only that, I was there with an awesome group of guys I would have not met otherwise if it weren't for the show and I wasn't taking any moment for granted. It is tough to always stay positive, because we are human beings, but by being positive everything else falls in line. You cannot be confident if you aren't positive. You cannot be motivated if you aren't positive. I believe the world suffers from a horrific disease – that disease is negativity. To be positive and to exert that energy can really make a difference in someone else's life and that's what I'm all about. I know how to be a happy guy and I want to show others how to reach that happiness.
RNO: What was going through your head when the pretty boys walked in?
David: When Jim walked in, I was thinking, "Cool, this is the captain of the boat and he's going to ask us all on for a group date." Then he kisses her hand and she welcomes him back. I'm thinking, what is he an ex-boyfriend or something? Then when Jerry walked in, I immediately put 6 and 38 together and I laughed out loud. Obviously, NBC didn't air it. I told Jerry afterwards, I wasn't laughing at him, I was laughing because I figured out the concept at this point. I then immediately thought of my buddies and knew they were going to feel a mixture of betrayal and anger, so I was going to make it a point to let them know it really wasn't a big deal and to stay true to who you are. I thought it was hilarious.
RNO: Did you think Larissa threw herself at the pretty boys (like Mike) more quickly than she warmed up to the average Joes?
David: I kept trying to look over at Larissa to see how she was reacting, but she did a good job of covering up her face with the envelope. Tony got the good peripheral. After seeing the show, because you don't know what goes on when you're not around, she definitely warmed up to the new guys in a heartbeat. When you're physically attracted to someone, your interests are definitely going to peak and that's what happened with Larissa.
RNO: You, of all the average Joes, seemed to get along best with the pretty boys – why was that?
David: Call me crazy, but I have this mentality that I don't judge people based on their looks. I think it was evident in the show. When all the guys first piled in, I wasn't like, "Oh my god, that guy is 300 pounds! What the hell am I doing here with him?" I was like, "Hey, let's have a few drinks, eat some food and have a great time, because we're all here together for however long we're going to be here and we should live the moment." So the thought never crossed my mind. Same with the new guys. I wasn't going to judge their character on their superficiality. I was going to meet all of them the way I met all of the "Joes" and treat everybody with equal respect. I'm a universal guy.
RNO: In the days between dates and other activities, what did you do to pass the time?
David: Oh jeez. The question should be more like, what would you have liked to have done? It was pretty boring to sit around the house being sequestered and all. No access to any media. You see me bobbing my head in one of the episodes, but as soon as they stopped filming that, they took the music away. The backyard was really small. Not enough room to get a real game of hoops on. And me being a serious guy who wants to sit down and have a conversation, nobody there was up for it, except for Mike Spitaletto. We bonded really well, him and I. I sat on the porch swing for hours at a time meditating. Most of the guys thought I was really wrapped up in Larissa, being on the swing for so long, but I was meditating most of the time. That's just how I am back home. I spend a lot of time alone and enjoy it.
RNO: What did you think of the first series compared to your own series?
David: When I first saw the promos for AJ1, I thought it was us. Boy was I stunned. I was thinking, "Oh man, this show is going to have to do really well for ours to even hit the air." I also thought, "Wait till the public sees us!!! We're nothing compared to the first batch. With our blend of personalities and looks, we really do make them look 'average.'"

Let me ask you, any one of you are doing hate wearing hats or caps. Therefore, Hats and caps are something which happens to be in vogue inspite of the season. You could get hats from many shops in addition to from online stores. Online hats will be the outstanding deals one will discover for customization and trendy wear. Dressing up clothes will be as simple as being a pirate hat and sword, or maybe a full suit having a mask and wig and accessories.
